SUPER FOOTBALL! Schweinsteiger clips a lovely pass over
the top of the defence to Javi Martinez who is the next Bayern player to
exploit the space left by Santana. He strikes the ball first time and
it looks destined for the corner, however, Weidenfeller gets enough on
it to slow it down before chasing back to stop it from rolling in behind
him.

Bayern are stepping up the pressure now as a whipped cross
from the left is sent behind by Santana, stopping his compatriot Dante
from connecting with it and possibly testing Weidenfeller.

Sumptuous stuff from Gotze! Having dribbled down the right
flank, he cuts inside of Alaba with a lovely step-over combination. He
then pokes the ball through the legs of Dante but puts too much on it
and loses control. So nearly a great moment.

A long diagonal ball from Dante is kept in play by Muller
and eventually sent back to Schweinsteiger. The midfielder switches the
play to Robben successfully but the Dutchman cannot match his team-mate
with an equally impressive pass into the box and Dortmund clear.

Bayern starting to look as though they are running out of
ideas as to how to break down this resilient, compact Dortmund side.
Mandzukic has barely been involved so far, with Robben also rather quite
out on the wings.
If BVB can get to half time with the game scoreless then
they will undoubtedly be pleased with their performance. Bayern though,
need to show that scything, clinical edge that has seen them put up
amongst the favourites to lift the Champions League this season.

Borussia Dortmund's defeat in the Super Cup of August 2012
is the only time they have lost at the Allianz Arena in their last four
visits. A 1-1 draw earlier this season was preceded by two Bundesliga
victories in the Bavarian city.

Klopp's men are still pressing high up the pitch, not
allowing the Bayern players much time to settle on the ball. They will
occasionally allow Dante time to sit on it at half way but then push
bodies back to congest the midfield, making it difficult for Bayern to
move forward.

We are almost one quarter of the way through this game and
I think it is fair to say that Bayern have been on top. They have
enjoyed the majority of possession but Dortmund are still trying to play
some lovely football when they enter the opposing half. If they can
hold out for a while longer they have every chance of nicking a goal.

Mandzukic finds space between Schmelzer and Santana and is
fed down that channel on Dortmund's right. He attempts to find the far
corner with an ambitious shot but it does not worry Weidenfeller who
simply watches it roll beyond his far post.

Santana is lucky there. Muller beats the Brazilian to the
ball and pokes it towards the byeline from just inside the area.
Fortunately for the Dortmund man his opponent does his best to avoid him
and the ball rolls out of play. Against another type of player a
penalty claim could well have followed.

Dortmund try to get the ball in the box from the left but
Neuer races out of his goal and punches the cross clear. It falls to
Gundogan 25 yards from goal but he is closed down as he shapes to shoot.

WHAT A MISS!! A great chance for Bayern goes begging! Lahm
does well on the right to turn his defender and send the ball into the
box. Santana gets his head on it but diverts it right across the face of
his own goal. Weidenfeller has to dive and get a hand on it to stop it
from entering the net, leaving Kroos with what appeared to be a simple
tap in. However, he made the most feeble of connections and merely
prodded the ball wide of the target. Awful.

It has been a bright start to the game so far, and
@anthonyekhoury has been in touch to give his opinion: "Robben to score,
Reus to score, and Bayern to win." An interesting call, but what do the
rest of you make of it? Let me know by sending your thoughts to
@thwebber.

Gotze tries to initiate some intricate passing on the edge
of the Bayern box with Piszczek. The German then plays a neat one-two
with Lewandowski but the return pass is too far behind him and he cannot
bring it under his control.

STRONG SAVE!! Kroos picks up the ball in a central
position 35 yards from goal and slides a pass to Robben on his left. The
winger takes a touch a drills a low shot towards the near post but
Weidenfeller has his angles covered and makes a solid stop with his
legs.

Bayern have assumed complete control of the ball in these
early stages. A long ball from Schweinsteiger is intercepted by Reus but
the forward is accused of using his arm to control the ball and the
hosts are awarded a free kick. In no hurry, they play it back and await a
clearer opening.

What a ball! Dante pings a lovely pass up to the 18-yard
line from his own half and Schweinsteiger manages to get a toe to the
ball. It is not enough to bring it under control and his touch actually
takes it away from Muller, who was ghosting in behind the defence.

Dante steps out of defence and wins the ball on the
half-way line. The Brazilian tries to thread a pass between the
defenders to Muller but Subotic stays tight to the German and
intercepts.

Bayern win the ball almost immediately and after knocking a
few short passes about at the back they look to send it long. After one
failed attempt it comes back but they fare no better on their second
chance. No worries for Dortmund there.

The teams are just making their way out onto the pitch now
so kick off is just a few short moments away! Send your thoughts and

Dortmund welcome back Robert Lewandowski as the Pole
missed their last two games through suspension. However, Klopp cannot
count on another mainstay this evening as Mats Hummels misses out with
flu. Nevertheless, plenty of talent on show tonight.
0
As you can tell, the hosts are without Franck Ribery for
the quarter-final as the Frenchman was dismissed against Augsburg in the
previous round. Daniel van Buyten also recovers from flu to begin
alongside Dante in the centre of defence.

Pride is at stake at the Allianz Arena tonight. Bayern
will be looking to avenge the 5-2 humiliation suffered that came in the
final of the last year's competition at the hands of BVB. Klopp's men,
though, will be eager to keep their cup dreams alive as they find
themselves 17 points adrift of their opponents in the Bundesliga.
